Hot Tapping & Line Stopping

Hot tapping and line stopping let a branch, isolation or repair be made without taking the line down, which is why they are used where a shutdown would cost more than the operation itself. The fitting is welded and tested on a live line, so weld procedure, wall thickness and flow conditions are confirmed before any cutting begins.

Typical scope: wall thickness verification and weldability assessment; split tee and fitting installation on a live line; drilling under pressure; single and double line stops for isolation; completion plugs and permanent capping; pressure testing and reinstatement to service.
