Gearbox Rebuild
Rebuild of industrial gearboxes, including gear and bearing replacement, backlash setting and load testing before return to service.
A gearbox is rebuilt to its tooth contact pattern and backlash figures, and both are set and recorded during assembly. A box put together without them runs quietly off load and fails once it is asked to carry the duty.
Typical scope: strip, clean and inspection of gears, shafts and housings; gear and bearing replacement; backlash and tooth contact setting; housing repair and bore restoration; oil system cleaning and seal renewal; no-load run and load testing where facilities allow.
Part of Rotating Equipment Repair.
