Mechanical Maintenance
Overhaul and adjustment of mechanical plant, including alignment, bolt torquing, seal replacement and the associated condition checks.
Mechanical work is controlled by the numbers that matter to the machine: alignment tolerance, bolt load, clearance and runout. Each is measured and recorded rather than judged by feel, so the assembly performs as designed once it is back on duty.
Typical scope: dismantling and reassembly of mechanical plant; shaft alignment and soft foot correction; controlled bolt tensioning and torquing; bearing and seal replacement; clearance and runout measurement; commissioning checks on return to service.
Part of General Maintenance.
