Hazardous Area Inspection
Inspection of Ex equipment and installations to the required grade, with a defect register and the remedial work needed to close it out.
Ex inspection is a grading exercise. Equipment is inspected to the visual, close or detailed grade the regime calls for, and every defect found is logged and closed out, because an unlogged defect in a classified area is the one that stays open indefinitely.
Typical scope: initial, periodic and sample inspection to the applicable grade; verification of equipment certification against the area classification; enclosure, gland and seal condition; earthing and bonding checks; defect register maintenance and close-out of remedial work.
