Sampling and analysis of process water, effluent and discharge streams against the consent limits that apply to the operation.
Effluent monitoring is judged against the consent that applies to the discharge, so the parameter list, sampling frequency and detection limits are taken from the permit rather than from a standard suite chosen for convenience.
Typical scope: grab and composite sampling of process water, effluent and discharge; field measurement of pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and temperature; laboratory analysis for hydrocarbons, metals, nutrients and solids; comparison against consent limits; reporting in the required format.
